The Warriors are both 3 for 3 on the season. The boys won the team title with a 312 total and Kamehameha was next with a 330 total. The girls tok the team crown with a 263 total, ahead of Kamehameha’s 284.

Meanwhile, the medalist race was interesting at the par 72 Waikoloa Village course, where it was hot with a calm winds throughout the day.

Waiakea sophomore Shon Katahira fired a 2-over 74 to claim medalist honors by one stroke over Kamehameha junior Preston Ching, who turned in a 75. And Katahira’s teammate, junior Trevor Hirata, carded a 76.

Then there was a logjam with five players at 81, including Kamehameha’s Kala’i Pomroy, Kealakehe’s Ziggy Bartholomy, Makua Lani’s Matt Rosato, Waiakea’s Eric Kagawa and Brayden Teshima.

For the girls, Kamehameha senior Shantel Antonio shot an 8-over 80 to grab her first BIIF win of the season by two strokes over Waiakea freshmen Kaelyn Uchida, who won the first two meets. Waiakea’s other standout fresman Kaley Saludares was third with an 84.

Hilo’s Chelsea Ward, Kamehameha’s Alana Manuia and Waiakea’s Anne Nakamoto each tied for fourth with a 97.
